Gear testing the new BirkSun Mythos Black Solar Backpack!
Super stoked to have been able to work with BirkSun and some of their innovative products over the past couple months. I’ve been rockin’ their Mythos Black Solar charging backpack from campus to the mountains and have loved every minute of it. Be sure to check them out!
The backpack comes with a lab-top sleeve that came in handy on campus, and plenty of space inside for both textbooks and day hikes. The biggest selling feature is the solar panel/battery pack combo to keep your USB devices charged throughout the day
My favorite use of the backpack was on the slopes. I love the look, and with all the sunlight and reflection off the snow, the backpack constantly stay charged at 100% almost all day while charging my GoPro and iPhone throughout the day.
The backpack can be charged via the solar panel, but also includes a wall charger, to get that extra charge the night before a big hike. In the 4 months I had the backpack however, I only ended up using the wall charger once. The solar panel did a much better job than I had expected.
For being such an innovative product in the market, and not much competition, I’d give the backpack a 9/10. I loved the way it looked, functioned, and wore. But my only dislike was the lack of water bottle holders. Although the bag itself is large enough to carry gear and a bottle inside, I think any backpack marketed to the outdoors industry should be equipped with at least one side bottle holder.
Awesome job BirkSun! Thanks for the support!
